Let’s work together.

Services

  • You are feeling overwhelmed and struggling in your daily life. You know it’s time to make changes, and you are committed to doing the work necessary for transforming your life. With a posture of curiosity and self-compassion, you are ready to go deep in understanding the root causes of your patterns. You are intrigued by the idea that your body holds wisdom that can open portals to your healing, wholeness, and integration.

I work with adults who are navigating transitions, traumatic histories, anxiety, depression, and grief. You may be new to therapy, or have hit a plateau with traditional talk therapy.

Somatic Psychotherapy sessions integrate the wholeness of who you are into your mental health treatment. Traditional talk therapy is combined with various mind-body practices to support your emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual well-being.

Clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and interventions are grounded in interpersonal neurobiology, attachment theory, and somatic modalities.

For those who desire a therapeutic space where their spiritual practices and beliefs are honored alongside their emotional and personal growth, I also offer spiritually integrated psychotherapy, regardless of religious affiliation or spiritual identity.

I am a deeply relational clinician that believes you are the expert in your own life, and that you have the inner wisdom, strength, and resilience to take the next steps on your journey towards wholeness. As a therapist, it is my role to listen deeply and hold your story with reverence, while offering supportive space, tools, and resources as a companion on your path.

I have a M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. I have completed training as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner through the Advanced 1 Level. A life-long learner, I have taken comprehensive and trauma-focused courses in Interpersonal Neurobiology with Dr. Dan Siegel and have completed additional trainings in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, and Intergenerational Trauma. Additional learning in attachment theory, emotion focused therapy, and integral somatic psychology also influence my approach to therapy.

INDIVIDUAL PSYCHOTHERAPY: These 50-minute sessions are generally scheduled weekly or every 2 weeks based on clinical need.

In-person in Milwaukee and Telehealth sessions offered for residents of Wisconsin.

  • You have a sense that your personal history of stress and trauma is impacting your experience of life. Maybe you always feel on edge, on the brink of overwhelm, and struggle to find rest. Or, you may feel listless and disengaged with your life, unable to gather the energy necessary to create the life you desire. Perhaps you know exactly what happened and the patterns you formed in response to it. Or you may have this vague sense that your life has been “hard” and you desire to experience the fullness of life, and believe that it is possible, even for you.

Developed by Peter Levine, PhD, Somatic Experiencing is a neurobiological body-based approach to trauma resolution. It seeks to restore the body’s natural capacity to self-regulate and connect to your innate life-energy by working with nervous system states that have become stuck within your physiology.

In these sessions, you will engage in a gentle process of moving between experiences of contraction and expansion, engaging with the subtle experiences of sensations, images, movement, emotions, and meaning, allowing the mind and body to work together to seek healing and integration.

I have completed training through the Advanced 1 Level on my way to becoming a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I have studied under Shideh Lenon, PhD and Joshua Sylvae, PhD.

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING WELLNESS SESSIONS: These 50-minute sessions can be scheduled on a regular or as-needed basis as determined based on your needs.

  • You long for a more loving, compassionate, and just world. The state of our world is a source of continuous heartbreak for you, and so you are committed to being part of the solutions. And, if you’re like me, you have a sense of needing to stay connected to your source of hope and love in order to bring that same quality of presence to your work.

I work with mission-driven individuals as they seek to become more deeply connected to the Sacred Mystery many name God as the grounding and sustaining source of their work in the world.

The inner work of Spiritual Direction can take many forms - exploring your beliefs about the world, yourself, and God; making meaning of your life stories; deepening your sense of purpose; discerning your next steps. The essence of this work is to become increasingly connected to the presence and activity of the Divine Love in your life, to tend to those places within your heart that are barriers to your full participation in that Love, and to actively to step into the invitations to bring that Love into the world.

Your life, your work, is part of a much larger project of bringing all of creation into deeper communion with the Divine Mystery in which we “live and move and have our being” (Christian Bible, New Testament, Acts 17:28). Exploring this reality more deeply can keep you connected to your hope and your purpose as you become a source of love and justice in the world.

In these sessions, the true “Spiritual Direction” received is from listening deeply and encountering the font of Wisdom within you. As such, I meet with seekers of any religious tradition, as well as those who identify as multiply religious, spiritually independent, and those who do not currently have a spiritual home.

I have an M.A. in Theology from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA with a concentration in Social Theory and Ethics and a certificate in Women’s Studies in Religion. I also holds an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. I trained as a spiritual guide and as a supervisor at the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, WI where I now have the privilege of serving as the Director of the Spiritual Guidance Training Program. As a life-long learner, my work is informed by additional training and experience in the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Yoga tradition, the enneagram, mindfulness, self-compassion, Somatic Experiencing, interpersonal neurobiology, and attachment theory, all of which shape my understanding of the spiritual path of transformation.

ONGOING SPIRITUAL DIRECTION: These 50-minute sessions are generally scheduled monthly.

SPIRITUAL EXERCISES: The 19th annotation of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola invites you to come to know more fully your purpose in the world through a deepening of your relationship to Jesus of Nazareth. I offer this in the spirit of Teilhard de Chardin and in conversation with modern psychology. It includes a daily commitment to personal prayer & weekly spiritual direction sessions for about 10 months.

In-person sessions in Milwaukee, WI or virtual sessions available.

  • It is your joy and privilege to accompany others on their spiritual journey. It enriches your own spiritual life to bear witness to the journey of others, and it invites you into ongoing growth and discovery about who you are within this role.

Supervision is a relationship of accountability where you get to intentionally tend that which arises within you during a spiritual guidance session. You will choose a moment or incident from within your sessions that elicits some kind of emotional response for you and have the opportunity to unpack this with a trained supervisor.

This is critical work as you are in this role of guide, as it facilitates growth in your own self-awareness about what might be getting in the way of your ability to be fully present and available to listen deeply to your seeker. It also is a space in which you can discover your gifts and growing edges within this ministry, and to discern your call to it.  At the end of each session, there is usually an opportunity for consultation questions.

I completed the Supervision Training Program at the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, WI as well as the supervision course with Lucy Abbott Tucker through Spiritual Directors International. I have been offering supervision in individual and group settings since 2019. I have additional supervisory experience as the Director of the Spiritual Guidance Training Program and a staff member of the Supervision Practicum Intensive, both offered at the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, WI.

INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS: These 50-minute sessions can be scheduled on a monthly or as-needed basis.
